Plattsburgh, New York – A City With Beautiful Historic Sites

Situated approximately 18 miles from the Southern US border, Plattsburgh was an excellent hub for fur trading with Montreal. If you are in Plattsburgh, enjoy walking and gazing at the beautiful historical buildings along with manicured parks. The Plattsburgh City Beach is one of the best attractions which is also dog-friendly and an ideal spot for picnics. There are numerous historical events such as the War of 1812’s Battle of Plattsburgh and the Revolutionary War’s battle of Plattsburgh.

Point Au Roches State Park

This is an ideal place to unite for a graduation event at the park is vast and well maintained. The park has a state boat ramp and quick access to the lake from Lake Champion which makes the spot boater-friendly. We visit this place quite often for hiking trails and cycling. It is one of the best spots for recreation.

Champlain Valley Transportation Museum

My family was mesmerized by this museum as all our questions and doubts were well answered and explained by the local guide carefully. It has car collection and transportation artifacts that keep people of all ages entertained. The guided tours are well organized and are as per the interest of every individual. The die-cast display is the extensive one that I have come across so far in the USA. Also, one can find substantial railroad exhibits, cars, and bicycles. The museum is known for specializing Lozier boats and vehicles. These were considered luxury items in Plattsburgh, and I highly recommend it.

Elfs Farm Winery & Cider House

We tasted the wines and the ciders which were quite tasty and as far as food is concerned, the Chicken wings are genuinely lip smacking. I also recommend the Asparagus fries, which look interesting and tastes delicious too. The staffs are courteous and are always happy to serve. If you wish to have an enjoyable time with family and love the idea of sampling wine, this place is indeed a must-visit.
